Made for the clips you generate
AI video often comes out small. Run a clip from Create video or Image to video through the upscaler before it goes into a deck, a website or a big screen.
DFIRST Upscale video is an AI video upscaler that enlarges a clip two or four times and sharpens it with the Topaz Proteus model. Upload an MP4, MOV or WebM file up to 30 seconds and 150 MB, and you get an H.264 MP4 up to 4K, the same length as the original, with its soundtrack kept.
Three steps. The first one starts on this page.
Drop an MP4, MOV or WebM video into the box above, up to 30 seconds and 150 MB, and choose how much larger it should be: 2× or 4×.
Topaz Proteus enlarges every frame and restores detail. Before the result is saved, DFIRST checks that it plays, has the size you asked for, keeps the original length and still has its sound.
The upscaled MP4 is saved to your Data Room next to your other files. Download it, or keep working with it in a session: new sound, a longer edit, the next version.
AI video often comes out small. Run a clip from Create video or Image to video through the upscaler before it goes into a deck, a website or a big screen.
A result that does not play, comes back shorter, at the wrong size or without the original sound is stopped with a message, not saved as if it were fine.
If the original has sound, the upscaled file keeps it. Want new sound instead? Send the sharper clip to Add sound to video afterwards.
Older clips and phone footage made sharp enough for today's feeds and ads.
Generated shots enlarged for websites, presentations and screens in stores.
Archive footage and client clips brought up to the size the edit needs.

About Upscale video and how it fits the rest of DFIRST.
Upload the clip in the box above, choose 2× or 4× and continue in DFIRST. Topaz Proteus enlarges and sharpens it, and you download an MP4 up to 4K with the same length and sound as the original.
Yes, as long as the result fits within 4K, which is 3840 by 2160 pixels. A 1080p clip at 2× becomes 4K. At 4× the source must be 540p or smaller; a larger one is stopped with a message, so choose 2× for it.
From 1 to 30 seconds, up to 150 MB and up to 60 frames per second. MP4, MOV and WebM files are accepted, and the result is always an H.264 MP4.
No. The clip keeps its length and its frame rate; only the width and height grow. No frames are added and nothing is slowed down, so it still fits your edit, and DFIRST compares the result with the original before it is saved.
It adds detail and sharpness as it enlarges, which helps soft or compressed footage. It does not steady a shaky camera, change the framing or bring back what was never in the shot.
Yes. If the original has a soundtrack, the upscaled file keeps it, and DFIRST checks that it is there. For new effects or a soundtrack, use Add sound to video or Add music to video afterwards.
Your clip waits on this device until your access starts. DFIRST opens to people on the waitlist first.
